Our current campaign, Banners, takes place on the flat, square planet of Echoram, which exists in an anachronistic state of technological development, which we’ve dubbed “Swords and Cell Phones.”At the world’s center stands a towering wooden spire, ever building itself skyward.
With each room it finishes, someone new is created within its walls.
It’s up to these people to explore the realms of Echoram, or maintain the flow of commerce in its central town, Bingusburg.
Join Graybeard of the Gallows, a pirate who's always horny for treasure, and Wolfsbane Nightfucker, a wolf born into the body of a goth teenage boy, as they learn to navigate identity, and ideology, amidst a social climate at the height of ripping itself apart.Meet a vast cast of characters, like Mimmy LeCronch, the Mimic shopkeeper, Decomportia, the Opossum necromancer, and The Jizzard, A living mass of splooge that loves to brew potions!Whether we’re spontaneously becoming jelly, summoning 10,000 rats from our mouths, or blowing down on a bottle of endless smoke, something crazy’s always going down in Echoram.

The Age of Formation:

-In the beginning, a creature hibernated within the hollow core of the barren planet, Echoram. He was a massive purple being with one eye unsettlingly shrunken, and one greatly enlarged.-One day, a white, polygonal spirit crashed into Echoram, and merged his soul with the planet’s surface. As the spirit began to practice his powers of creation, Echoram became populated by a diverse array of flora that brought natural life into this new world.-As the world above transformed, the creature awoke to find a glowing white figure above him. He reached out for the spirit, which caused him to release a massive pulse of life force. Both of them both fell into a dormant State, then, from the pulse’s point of origin, a spire began to grow.

The Age of the Oldworld

???

The Age of Contention:

???

The Age of Reformation:

???

The Age of Banners:

[1] A Sea Dog & His Pup-Jerry “Wolfsbane” Nightfucker and Graybeard of the Gallows were born in the Bingusburg spire. Jerry was a mostly nude goth teenager who believed himself to be a wolf, and Graybeard was the most stereotypical looking pirate you could ever imagine.-'Mayor 2210' sent Graybeard and Wolfsbane on a mission to slay the four Primary Elementals.-The two shopped around Bingusburg and met a housecat named Scritch Fluffins, Jollah the elf, PinPin the cactoid, Herb the Turtleman, Dondo the lizard, Threadworth the wraith, The Jizzard, and Mimmy LeCronch the mimic.-As they prepared to leave town, church bells began ringing from the north, drawing Wolfsbane’s attention..[2] “Higher Than Holy”-Wolfsbane visited the church of the underlord and met Aurora, the high priestess. He offered her some Poyson to smoke, and her demeanor shifted.-Aurora accepted Wolfsbane as an Arcane Acolyte.-Graybeard met an opossum necromancer named Decomportia, who helped uncover the entrance to a secret underground lab. Inside, Graybeard met Traintron, a magical living train who offered to take him to any familiar location.-The party was ambushed on their way out of town, and Wolfsbane’s first hunt ensued.-After killing both enemies, our duo headed to the beach to hunt the first Primary Elemental.[3] “A Blast out of Baja”-Wolfsbane and Graybeard traveled to Beach Island, where Threadworth awaited with custom swim trunks for them.-Wolfsbane ran toward the water, where he was attacked by a Triton Hunter.-Once Wolfsbane defeated the Triton Hunter, the party met Rainmane, the leonite water watcher. They fucked with him, beat him up, and made him question his allignment by punching him with a ‘Fist of Astral.’-The duo then met a mermaid named C-baby, who they smoked seaweed with.-C-baby took Wolfsbane and Graybeard across the depths, where the two argued about their alignments to the arcane and astral faith, then abandoned C-Baby.-Wolfsbane encountered LASER, and was harassed by him, before he suddenly vanished.-Wolfsbane followed Graybeard inside the dungeon, found him at the bar, and asked for a drink.-Graybeard poured from the nearest bottle, but as Wolfsbane drank, his body reacted strangely. The label on the bottle was revealed to be fake, and covered the ‘Hair of the Dawg’ label beneath.[4] “What Flavor are You?”-Wolfsbane got very drunk and entered a more beastly state.-A group of jellyfish appeared, guarding a chest. The duo defeated them, plundered the chest, and triggered an explosive inside that killed them both instantly.-They awoke at the dungeon entrance, bound to a magical circle of revival, then headed to the Elemental Champion.-Graybeard noticed strange glyphs of the Primary Elementals lining the arena.-Wolfsbane became jelly and entered the Elemental. Once inside, he found an arcane spiral within the champion.-With a risky attack, Graybeard killed the Elemental, but endangered Wolfsbane.-Wolfsbane harbored resentment for Graybeard’s impatience, and a rift developed in their friendship.[5] “Back to the Burg”-Wolfsbane and Graybeard returned home on TrainTron and went to separate bars.-Wolfsbane met Bastardo, the hound, vented about the recent betrayal, and was warned about the daunting nature of excess.-Graybeard went back to Jollah, failed to lie about what happened, and was assured that he and Wolfsbane were destined for great things.-The two met up and settled their differences by allowing Wolfsbane to hit Graybeard, making them even.-The party ran into P.P. Coolsquire, and he told them to go visit Cayder the satyr, west of town, and have their FarStones upgraded.[6] “Three Grizzly Bears & Ten Thousand Rats”-Wolfsbane and Graybeard passed out in the street from exhaustion.-Decomportia found them, helped them plunder their daily grave, and sent them on their way to meet Cayder the satyr.-Cayder was harassed into putting an early translator app on the duos’ phones.-The two traveled to the Billowing desert, where Wolfsbane noticed a hidden castle made of glass.-Inside, they faced a group of Chimechildren, and Wolfsbane tapped into pure arcane magic to spawn three grizzly bears and ten thousand rats.-All three bears died in the fight, but Wolfsbane was left with an army of 10,000 rats.-Once the dust cleared, Graybeard discovered a fantasy vape in a chest, and the two began blowing the fuck down.[7] “The Best Plan”-Wolfsbane and Graybeard spotted the Elemental Champion of Wind, but elected to visit the Larris casino instead.-Inside, the duo approached the bar and Wolfsbane attempted to have one of his rats steal a bottle of whiskey.-The two were caught, and the casino activated its electric hologram defense system.-In a panic, Wolfsbane tapped into the Arcane, then woke up in a stranger’s body, at another location.-Graybeard watched as Wolfsbane skillfully absorbed and redirected the waves of electricity coming at them.-An ironborn named FE appeared at the door, and called out to Graybeard in Wolfsbane’s voice.-In one last move, FE, as Wolfsbane, absorbed the oncoming electricity and jumped skyward. Wolfsbane rushed across the casino to make contact with FE, and as their hands met, the electricity was diffused.-In the aftermath, Wolfsbane found himself able to produce lightning magic.[8] “Try Your Luck”-Wolfsbane tested his electric abilities by calling a gigantic bolt down onto the Larris casino, which toppled it around them instantly.-'Mayor 2210' called the duo, worried that one of them had awoken the power he had witnessed on the horizon.-As the two left the casino, they were greeted by Jollah, but FE seemed suspicious of something.-They debated if this was really Jollah, until FE fired an electric bolt into his chest. The creature across from them revealed itself to be a false NPC, and was slayed by the party.-They traveled into the pyramid, where Wolfsbane sent his rats to blindly explore the first floor. A ton of rat traps deployed, and a hellish cacophony of snaps filled the pyramid.-Wolfsbane and Graybeard cleared the floor, and Graybeard gave Wolfsbane a set of leather armor as a gift.-Graybeard vaped so hard at a group of Gustguys that they all died.[9] “That ain’t a, Ain’t thatta-?”-Graybeard and Wolfsbane continued up the pyramid, killed some enemies, and Wolfsbane found a bone.-They ascended further to discover a room with a pool of scarabs at its center. The duo sent FE to walk into the pool, and he instantly vanished out of sight.-Graybeard tapped into his pure magic and summoned three grizzly bears and ten thousand more rats to occupy the scarabs, at which point they simply walked across.-The Elemental Champion of Wind appeared, and called upon the bodies of every rat that died in the pyramid to form a battle suit.-The duo defeated the Elemental Champion of wind very quickly, thanks to a massive attack from Graybeard.-Wind magic across all of Echoram grew more powerful, and Graybeard began to float above the ground.-5,000 rats remain, awaiting orders.[10] “Zan Larris”-Our duo traveled back home, upon TrainTron.-They paid ‘Mayor 2210’ a visit to collect their gold, but the mayor kept Zac’s potential earnings from him, and claimed that “Reparations were owed to Zan Larris for the destruction of his casino.”-The duo shopped around town to resupply, then ran into a familiar face. RainMane tried, and failed, to perform his own ‘Astral Fist’ against Graybeard.-The party learned that RainMane and C-Baby had begun traveling together, with Water magic keeping C-Baby hydrated on land, and allowing C-Baby to handle any potential deep water excursions.-The party traveled to Tomb Town to visit Decomportia Melonch, and dig up some graves. They found two bodies, missing the name on the second one’s lid.-As the party left, Decomportia inspected the casket, and discovered the body inside was a man named “Zan Larris.”

[11] Blightmare #1-Wolfsbane and Graybeard visited ‘Mayor 2210’ for treats and treasure. They were informed of a holiday going on called Trickster’s Eve.-Wolfsband and Graybeard climbed the spire on a candy quest, where they met Edwick, the Vamp, Enorma, the Giantess, and Bandy, the raccoon.-Due to an error translating Dondo’s speech, Graybeard was given a warning that he would have to kill Wolfsbane.-The party returned to their rooms and went to bed.[12] Blightmare #2 (NON- CANON)-A scream in the night woke the party and they stepped back out into Bingusburg. The torches at each door illuminated once again to indicate that Trickster’s Eve was still going on.-The party went door to door until they found a giantess named Enorma, who seemed overcome by a sickness.-Enorma murdered Graybeard in an instant, and Wolfsbane luckily evaded her lunging attack that followed, and sent her crashing to the ground, off the side of the spire.-Graybeard appeared in a spectral form, then 2210 appeared and offered to take Wolfsbane Trickster’s Treating. Graybeard then possessed 2210 as his new body.-They met up with Decomportia and invited a group of townsfolk to a party at the mayor’s office.-Once everyone arrived, they discovered the office was completely surrounded by undead.[13] Blightmare #3 (NON- CANON)-Graybeard, in 2210’s body, spontaneously combusted, and killed half of the survivors inside the mayor’s office.-Aurora appeared, ready to erase this dimension by killing everyone. Graybeard possessed her at the last second, and began a rampage in the streets, using her powers.-Dondo appeared, uninfected, and told Graybeard that the only way out is to kill Wolfsbane.-As Graybeard refused, Wolfsbane exploded.-The two woke up from their dream and Wolfsbane expressed gratitude for Graybeard not killing him. Graybeard had no idea what he meant-Graybeard drank hella candy blood and his voice went WILD.[14] An Apology to God-Wolfsbane and Graybeard awakened and decided to go visit Jollah. They asked him how he felt about the world, and a censorship protocol stopped the words from leaving his mouth.-’Mayor 2210’ found the party and asked where they’re going next. He warned that the Searing Mountains are a dangerous place, occupied by violent people, and the party shouldn’t try to communicate with them.-On their way out of town, P.P. Coolsquire checked in with the party, then upgraded the translators on their FarStones to be more consistent.-Wolfsbane visited Aurora and found that her computing was inconclusive. Aurora asked Wolfsbane to bring her the chestpiece of the next Elemental so she could run some tests.-Decomportia tried to seduce Graybeard, laying on the floor of a candle lit Tomb Town, counting her shiny plates of names she owns now. Graybeard was deeply confused and asked for help with graverobbin’.-Decomportia dug up a grave, and from within, an amalgam of rotten body parts attacked Graybeard. With a wind slash sent in various directions, the amalgam was undone, and Graybeard found the legendary item, the clown caller. As a further reward, Decomportia gave Graybeard one of her nameplates.-Wolfsbane dug up a grave and freed two cats from their hiding place. He chased them across town until he encountered Mitts at the Poison Pit.-Wolfsbane argued with Mitts for a while, stole some poison, and threatened his life before Mitts rushed off.-Wolfsbane and Graybeard headed to the Searing Mountains and were attacked by two Wisps. Graybeard snuffed one out with a bucket, and Wolfsbane absorbed the last one into his hand, causing a witness from the nearby town to excitedly call him “Fireboi.”-The resident invited our duo to their mining camp, and as they walk away, we see that the nameplate in Graybeard’s pocket says “Zan Larris.”[15] “Oh Good Galley”-Wolfsbane and Graybeard visited the small settlement in the Searing Mountains, where they met LavaLad the Magmoid, Dinp the Imp, and a deceased Knobwob the Hobgoblin. They learn that the people here speak common, and admire Wolfsbane’s fire abilities.-A massive dragon flies above the settlement and destroys one of the buildings. None of the settlers seem alarmed, as this is every day of their lives now. They’re told that this creature is known as ‘The Great Dragon,’ and they reveal that people from Bingusburg often visit The Great Dragon to offer fuel for his flames.-Wolfsbane and Graybeard headed for the Volcano to hunt the Elemental Champion.-As they crossed the Searing Mountain bridge, a lesser dragon swooped down to attack them. The duo slayed the dragon after piercing its heart, which set off an explosion that toppled the entrance to the volcano.-Lavalad caught up to the duo and offered to help get them into the volcano, by guiding them to The Dragon’s Den[16] “Something New”-Lavalad led the party to the Dragon’s Den, which connected to the Volcano.-They met a drake named Drungo, who expressed that things there were a bit crazy in The Searing Mountains, and joined the party.-They met two other drakes who tried to kill them, one of which called them savages. Wolfsbane killed the first with a lightning speed slash, and Lavalad killed the second by melting its head with his body.-The party entered the Searing Mountain Volcano, but Lavalad and Drungo were not protected by the circle at the start of the dungeon.-In the second chamber, the party found a Dungeonfly Nest, and Graybeard captured one in a bucket.-The party challenged the Primary Elemental of Fire, but the Great Dragon ate it immediately.-Wolfsbane’s fire abilities were powered up, and he gained the new form of a flaming wolf, with lightning bolt eyebrows.[17] “A Last Ditch Resort”-The party avoided a massive flame attack from The Great Dragon. Drungo ran in to make physical attacks on its body. Wolfsbane spit on Lavalad a lot, in a failed attempt to power him up with flames, and Graybeard sent strong wind currents its way, to hopefully redirect the next wave of flame, and Lavalad began his charge.-Graybeard windstepped into the air, trying to lure The Great Dragon upwards. Once the creature took off, he tried to send a massive gust, hoping to push the dragon down into the lava rim of the arena. He was a bit too successful, and also sent himself flying toward the magma. After creating an air pocket around himself, the magma hardened, and temporarily turned Graybeard into a stone statue.-Graybeard broke free from the stone, and four fragments shot very quickly at The Great Dragon. One shard cut a slit across his chest, and light began glowing from it. Wolfsbane climbed The Great Dragon, and slashed the slit open further with his katana. Lavalad unleashed all of the momentum he had been building up, and shot into the glowing cut, melting the dragon’s explosive heart, and erasing them both with a massive boom.-The party awoke amidst the rubble of the destroyed volcano. Graybeard heard Drungo beneath the rubble before Wolfsbane found him. Drungo climbed out, and the three remaining party members pieced together what had happened.-The party called TrainTron and began riding home, however, Drungo insisted they stop by the Searing Mountain Village, to impart the news of Lavalad’s fate to its people.-Drungo felt immensely guilty that Lavalad was gone, instead of him. He decided to stay at the Searing Mountain Village, and help them ease into a new era.-Our duo decided to head back to home, and Graybeard ghost-rode TrainTron on their way back to Bingusburg.[18] “Seaworthy Spliff”-The party visited The Empty Bottle, where Jollah seemed paranoid. He began trying to write out a warning, but it hurt his wrist intensely. Jollah then began drafting his own script to communicate in.-'Mayor 2210' gave the party their treats and gold, but withheld half of Wolfsbane’s gold for repayment, settling his debt to Zan Larris. Graybeard got a set of astral bracers.-The party visited Decomportia in Tomb Town, where Graybeard had her dig up the grave of Nat Lightbeer, and found some flint inside. Wolfsbane directed Decomportia to Zan Larris’ grave, and she expressed regret in giving his tomb plaque away to Graybeard. The party read the name and pieced together that ‘Mayor 2210’ had been lying to them. Decomportia said that things were feeling tense in town that day, and decided she would pursue ‘Mayor 2210,’ while our heroes visit The Silent Forest.-The Party visited AB Jewelers, and Wolfsbane bought a False Mustache. He then tried to get his money back, and was given a rebate sheet for a few months from now. Graybeard tried a similar lie for a bedazzled monocle, and Boots, the dwarf, just gave it to him.-Our heroes visited Mimmy LeCronch to get some vials, and ask about his magic.-A man named Dick Lingler called Wolfsbane an illegal beast, and the party fucked him right up. They literally sauced that fucker. Jollah showed up and gave them a note, reading “We got beast racists now,” they scooped him up into a bucket, and Jollah took it back to The Empty Bottle.-The party then went to visit The Church of the Underlord, only to find it locked. After kicking the door in, they find that a secret meeting was taking place inside. The party overheard people in the group blaming beasts for an apparent recession in Bingusburg.-On their way out of town, P.P. Coolsquire texted the party and asked about the new wave of hate towards beasts. They decided to go visit him, but ran into Cayder on their way. He told them to get excited for his new machine, the Synthesazer. Wolfsbane told him he should call it the SyntheSatyr, prompting Cayder to rush off very quickly.-The party arrived at FarStone Central, and found the door already open. Inside, they noticed blood, then Wolfsbane noticed P.P. Coolsquire’s dead body, at the front counter.[19] “Chute First, ask Questions Ladder”-Wolfsbane, Graybeard and Crinkk Sprinklefink entered The Silent Forest, and discovered that the path was segmented into spaces, coated in a thick layer of sap. Each party member traveled along the path together, until they encountered a large sentient rock monster, a Boulder Brother.-During their fight against the Boulder Brother, Wolfsbane was sent through the brush, and came out very far down the path. Crinkk Sprinklefink eventually killed the Boulder Brother with a beam of condensed fairy dust.-Wolfsbane proceeded, and awoke another Boulder Brother, before calling out for help.-Crinkk grabbed Graybeard’s shoulder, to keep them from being separated. Along the path, Graybeard encountered Mimmy LeCronch, apparently very disoriented. The three combined their efforts in a dash to catch up to Wolfsbane, but fell short. Soon after, Mimmy was snatched into the brush by a hand made of green pine needles. Moments later, Graybeard looked down to discover the hand had gripped his shoulder.[20] “Bounger Brother”-Wolfsbane faced off against a Boulder Brother, and ended up highjacking its body. He then barreled through the rest of the trail, smashing chests along the way.-Graybeard awoke in a clearing with Mimmy LeCronch, as The Grass Spirit attacked. During their fight, its hidden metal core struck a rock and set the creature ablaze. Graybeard blasted The Grass Spirit back onto the trail, where Crinkk Sprinklefink killed it with another fairy dust laser.-Graybeard located the FaeStation, exited the forest, and found Wolfsbane inside a boulder brother, bound to the side of the forest temple by vines.
